An enthralling encounter that included everything

The Sumas conceded late on to only claim a point from an end to end contest that was watched on by a massive away following from Wokingham. It was a game that had everything, aided by the windy conditions, and the Sumas may feel that a draw was a harsh result.

The game began at a quick tempo that didn't drop throughout the afternoon - the first chances of the afternoon saw O'Connell's header saved, and Woodward keep out the Windsor forward at the other end. Clark had a chance that he turned over the goal, but the offside flag was up to spare his blushes.

Woodward then made another smart stop from a corner, before Raggett couldn't convert Mullan's cross as the angle was too tight.

The goal that both teams were searching for came to Windsor first - a corner was not dealt with and it was a simple finish for the scorer from just yards out. The Sumas struggled to maintain their attacking momentum after this, mainly due to the wind against them, making it difficult to make sustained progress up the pitch.

The interval saw Clark replaced by Bossman, but it was the returning Dan Collier who picked out Toby Raggett inside the box, who headed in his first goal for the Sumas.

Raggett didn't stop their however - he proceeded to turn his man inside out with great footwork, leaving him on the floor, before playing it to Holder-Spooner, who coolly poked it home to give the Sumas the lead.

The elation was brief however, as Windsor won a penalty at the other end as Parkes brought down a man whilst trying to clear. Up stepped Woodward however to save what was in all truth a poor penalty, and keep the Sumas in the lead.

Ojong, Aklobessi and Shaw were all introduced to the game, but heartbreakingly with just minutes left on the clock, Windsor equalized and made it two a piece. Allen Bossman squandered a late chance, and the full time whistle blew with both sides having to settle for a point.

The support from the travelling Sumas was immense today, as "you're supposed to be at home" and "Suuuuuumas" rang around Stag Meadow, but unfortunately only the singular point will be returning to Lowther Road.
