As the Stags of the Meadow clashed over and over the Portuguese Prince re-emerged, dual thunderclaps from the BLUE before ‘the Shah,’ ventured forth to reclaim his crown as believer in chief and did so with vigour.
And with joy abounding the ‘rope ladder,’ is dropped, mission impossible is perhaps just another obstacle in the continuing adventure of ‘Goodbye Yellow Finch’ Road,’ or indeed ‘another (Pur)brick in the wall.’.
Meek surrender was never an option. Suddenly, joyfully the Sumas believe! As the sodden turf begins to finally crispen and the buds emerge from their slumber so do orange hopes. The very real metaphorical manifestation of rebirth for a season that has long been troubled.
The games will come thick and fast, but the first block of that phenomenon called ‘momentum,’ has fallen into place. Stag Meadow so often the scene of Wokingham revivals has perhaps crystallised yet another. Virginia Water 0-3 Wokingham, a truly epic catalyst. The job is nowhere near done but at least the possibilities have been captured. Let the ‘Colosseum,’ bear witness, let ‘the hope,’ well and spring and finally let Luke ‘Sky-walk,’ one more time.
