WEFC 4-2 Didcot


Wokingham in fourth place gave a debut to 16 year old Joshua Harris up front alongside the relative veteran Jake White and the youngster didn’t disappoint firing home in the opening 45 minutes along with captain Sam Lawrence to give the Sumas a 2-0 lead at Lowther Road.

Dan Bateman’s showed no signs of a hangover from the midweek Supplementary Cup disappointment at Holyport, Whiting making it 3-0 in the second half before Harris was involved in build up for the fourth that was eventually finished by Chris Robson to send the Sumas in 4-0 at half time

Lawrence could and should have had a hat trick at full time but failed to convert from the penalty spot after White was brought down and there were certainly nerves during the second half as the visitors scored twice as they applied some pressure to Bateman’s side, though the Sumas held on to take the tie 4-2.
